Registration and Accounts

The Heat Network Heat Loss Calculator can be used without registering an account. When you create a new calculation a record is created and given a unique identification which can be used to access the calculation. The corresponding URL is displayed in the Calculation Details block.

By default all calculations are publically available from this URL, although in practice because the identification is a UUID it cannot be guessed. If you have a registered account the calculation can be set to private. You can return to the calculation at any point using this URL (subject to retention)

For calculations not associated with a registered account the calculations will be deleted periodically. How often depends on the traffic on the site, but we do not guarentee to retain calculations for more than 24 hours.

Registering an Account

To register a free account either click the registration button from the home page, or the top right Register option on the menu. Registration requires name, a valid email address, and a password.

Registration benefits are

• your calculations are retained (unregistered calculations are periodically deleted)
• allows you to view a list of your previous calculations
• set any calculation to private so that it can only be viewed by the account
